Family tells of harrowing brush with runny noses, light fever.
This guy praises Gavin Newsom for mandating injecting schoolchildren with experimental mRNA gene therapy – but he also wants the children to still wear masks.
His bio:
Google software engineer. Mountain View YIMBY [Yes in my back yard, i.e., build more housing for more mass immigration]. Advocate for housing, biking, transit. I enjoy games, guitar, puzzlehunts, fatherhood. Black lives matter.
This is Titania McGrath level – is a parody or sincere? Physiognomy is real – just look at that face.
Also, why are software engineers so convinced that they should be making social policy? As noted with Yarvin, a bunch of self-identified “nerds” that admit they are so anti-social they couldn’t make any friends are the ones that want to “reform” society for the people that do have friends? Physician, heal thyself! What is it about programming computers that makes them think they have some special insight on how societies run?
Remember the lawyer from the Simpsons Lionel Hutz? “Mr. Simpson, don’t you worry, I watched Matlock in a bar last night. The sound wasn’t on, but I think I got the gist of it.”
“I played a lot of Civilization in college, so I think if we set industry to +5 and commerce just right, it’s quick to get to the Space Age!”
If I want someone to design my ecommerce t-shirt shop, I might ask a software engineer from Google. But I don’t see why I’d want him making public health policy, demanding schoolchildren be injected with experimental mRNA gene therapy, and then still force them to wear face masks for no other reason than it feels like “doing something.”
All for a disease with a lower death rate than seasonal influenza?
Google is a cancer on the body politic. At least the Wall Street bastards admit they are bastards. The Silicon Valley Socialists prove the quote correct:
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. — C. S. Lewis
Although, I’m not necessarily convinced they really are motivated by idealistic good intentions. I suspect it’s really moral narcissism, and a mass psychosis from spending too much time online, only interacting with people via the intermediation of a Slack channel, and losing the ability to discern between human communication and AI.
These people are scary.
It is very related to the rise of Queerness. The idea that you can “identify” as something you are not, then force other people to pay along – and if they won’t, you can slander them as x-ophobic and get them fired – is that baby made by mass psychosis and mass narcissism.
We keep laughing at the ridiculousness of it all – but our laughter is getting increasingly nervous, isn’t it? We can mock them all we want, but it isn’t stopping them.
His “analogy” is so easily refuted — auto accidents kill and maim, and impose on healthcare resources, driving is a privilege not a right, etc. , while Covid is basically the sniffles – that he’s either being deliberately misleading (sophistry) or else can’t think rationally. It’s not inconsistent with being a “software engineer” which is kind of like calling a janitor a “sanitation engineer.” He may be good at constructing an optimal path in a well-thought out (by others) system, but unable to think on his own. Martin Gardner pointed out that scientists, especially physicists, are the easiest people for psychic frauds to fool, since they are used to operating in labs where everything is controlled and no one (ideally) is committing fraud. “But look, the spoon is bending, I can see it with my own eyes!”
The “one size fits all” view of intelligence is common on the Right (eg. the IQ fetishists) as well.

He’s not even arguing that it is safer to have both injections and masks. He is arguing that it is acceptable to force both. He is justifying power which is what Leftists always do.

I’ve had to lie to my entire extended family that I’ve had the vaccine. I even publicly support this vaccine shit. I’m a fucking coward and I hate myself.

Silicon Valley used to be a place where these types of establishment nitwits were ruthlessly mocked and ignored. When the nature of the IT industry became much more consumer oriented, with the advent of the PC, and especially smart phones and social media, the culture of intellectual debate and raw IQ got replaced with this conformist nonsense because essentially the big companies compete on marketing, politics, and sheer network effect control. Frankly, during the actual days of etching silicon in Sunnyvale, when true talent was on display in semiconductor design and technology, women were still secretaries, and guys like this were stocking shelves. Now women are CEOs of ‘tech’ companies like dating app Bumble and half-a-fags like this get to pretend to be making a difference by coding the next YouTube censorship algorithm and regurgitating every NPR talking point he hears while driving his Prius to work.
