Army is like a tree full of monkeys, all on different limbs at different levels. The monkeys on top look down and see a tree full of smiling faces. The monkeys on the bottom look up and see nothing but assholes. — Joke #11586
During military training sessions to address extremism in the ranks, some service members have challenged why the Pentagon is not treating the violence during racial injustice protests last summer as equal to the deadly riot at the U.S. Capitol. That the two events are viewed as equivalent by some troops has caught the Pentagon’s attention in its effort to educate service members that extremist views and activity — on either side of the political spectrum — go against the oath they took when they joined the military, the top enlisted leader told reporters on Thursday. “
This is coming from every echelon that we’re talking to,” said Ramón Colón-López, the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. “Some people may think that, ‘all right, so the events of 6 January happened. How come you’re not looking at the situation that was going on in Seattle prior to that?’”
… Based on the feedback from those sessions, “I am concerned about the way that some people are looking at the current environment, and what they are thinking they can do and act upon based on their personal beliefs,” Colón-López said.
My guess is “both sides” are lying about the “Capitol Riots” and it exposed a real fault line. But it is not at all what the “two sides” are saying. Trump fans want to downplay it and the media is going into hysteria. Of course, the average man in the military is right to question why the massive violence of the BLM Antifa riots were endorsed by the media, the government – and the military in some cases – while the comparatively mild protests at the Capitol are being treated as if it was the New 9/11.
The “Trump loyalists” had a “stand down” order and refused to provided Guard to secure the Capitol. It wasn’t bureaucracy, it was what the “Trump loyalists” were appointed, at the last minute, to do.
Trump fired Esper and appointed Miller precisely at the time the “establishment” had called the election for Biden. Trump and his people, like Giuliani and a rotating cast of fringe lawyers, were floating the idea that Vice President Mike Pence was going to refuse disputed states thus throwing it to Trump.
They said all this openly. Certainly there were some Trump fans who believed they were serious. Miller’s Pentagon really did refuse to provide Guard service to secure the Capitol building on the day of the protest, which was happening as the Congress was counting Electoral votes.
The Democrats have a point. But we know the Democrats aren’t the slightest bit interested in holding someone like Christopher Miller to account. What Democrats want to do is find a civilian Trump fan, someone with a big media following – a few hundred of them – and make an example of them.
For some reason – its just soooooooo hard to figure out – Democrats aren’t actually interested too much in Christopher Miller, Ezra Cohen-Watnick and Antony Tata.
It is universal. Enlisted men march into machine gun fire, then at some point one general calls up the other general and says, ok, I surrender. Then the two generals have cocktails to hash out the cease-fire agreement while the enlisted men hunt around picking up body parts.
Whenever anyone says they are a “progressive” I just ask them to explain it. To be “progressive” means to advocate “progress” toward some goal. What is the goal they are progressing toward? Well, it’s always some variation of Fully Automated Luxury Space Communism – Star Trek – pretty must just like everyone else. The question is how do you get there?
The Right are the hard-headed realists not given to such flights of fancy. They say there’s no such thing as Fully Automated Luxury Space Communism and even if there was no one can agree on how to get there. One man’s utopia is another man’s dystopia. Therefore, the Right says, charge up that hill and take the machine gunner’s nest while I hash out the agreement with the other general, over drinks.
So, what do you know, all the American men in the military – you know, white men – they actually didn’t like this whole thing, with the “lock downs” and the totally fair elections and the censorship of disinformation about the totally fair election and then the whole “let’s burn down the cities all summer in mostly peaceful protests” meanwhile the mainstream media, ABC, CBS, NBC, NYT, WP, broadcasts anti-white, anti-American propaganda 24/7.
If one were to watch this media, it is surely infuriating. It’s like being a Jew watching Hitler TV.
“White men, racism, white women, hate, fascist, Trump, racist, did I mention white supremacist!”
Trump worked because the Boomers loved him unironically and anyone under 30 just liked him because he wasn’t anti-them. They knew it was lip service, but at least it was service.
But let’s look to the future. First, in the 20th century ABC, CBS and NBC worked because they were infrastructure. They had antennas and broadcast to millions instantaneously.
But the technology changed. The infrastructure changed. Now everything is the Internet.
In the “Age Of Covid” all that CBS, NBC, and ABC do is Zoom video calls – just like everyone else. Without the audience and the sets, some dude sitting in front of his laptop is the same as another dude sitting in front of his laptop.
15 year old Youtube Game Streamers have better production values than CNN now.
So we see the fight has switched to distribution.
The fact that Andy Jassy of Amazon Web Services shut down Parler is a big deal. He was then immediately rewarded by being named CEO of all of Amazon. Parler was mainstream Republican financed by a major GOP family.
Then again let’s not forget that Trump’s people were literally trying to blackmail Jeff Bezos – they hacked into his phone, and released his sex pictures – all over Jared Kushner and MBS murdering the Washington Post journalist.
It is interesting when the Deep State sticks its head out because of their infighting.
