I consider it my duty to debunk dangerous conspiracy theories. From 9/11 “truthers” to people who believe in the anti-semitic conspiracy called “the AIPAC Lobby” – which is just another variation on the Elders of Zion conspiracy theory – to the Covid-19 conspiracy theories about “bioweapons.”
Today’s post is going to be lazy because I have to go to the doctor and get my stress pills refilled because I accidentally read Reddit’s WorldNews section full of CIA propaganda about China and I’m triggered like a misgendered Yalie.
In any case, the nutjobs on the Internet have decided that there are these shadowy “conspiracies” that manufacture a drug from a plant that they turn into a magical powder and smuggle across the borders into America.
I’m trying to figure out the racist angle on this – I assume it’s based on White Supremacist KKK conspiracies about brown people from South America – but come on.
Do you know how many people would have to be involved in such a conspiracy? Thousands? Tens of thousands?
Someone would have talked.
