I guess it goes without saying that the TV talking heads are treating this pretty much the opposite of how they have treated a year’s worth of riots and arson by Black Lives Matter and Antifa.
In keeping with the last few years, the media isn’t even pretending any pretense of objectivity and the rhetoric is ramped up. They are using the phrase “assault on democracy.”
We all laughed when Black Lives Matter burned down a police precinct building and the media called it a “mostly peaceful protest.” In this case, a bunch of people just went into the Capitol building and they are treating it like an insurrection. When Trump wanted to call out the National Guard they called him a “tyrant” but of course the DC mayor called out the National Guard the day before.
The media is the propaganda arm of a regime that is falling, in front of our eyes. It will certainly last the night and it may even last the next few months or a year. But a change is coming.
What my people need to do is to direct these Trump people towards something useful and the sooner the better.

Spot on. The only people the media are fooling with this “attack on our democracy” are 90 year olds like my grandmother. When Saddam Hussein sat in the Iraqi parliament and read from a list of politicians who he claimed were enemies of Iraq with his goons hauling them off one by one while on lookers were sobbing and praying they weren’t on the list, all while on live television, that was a great coup. Imagining Trump sitting in the house chamber reading a kill list with MAGA hatted foot soldiers dragging out a mercy begging pramila jayapal, eric swalwell, or the squad, really cracks me up. The media turning the bullshit up to 11 on this farce, even comparing this to 9/11, is simultaneously enraging and comical. I genuinely feel bad for the innocent woman who was killed, especially knowing she will not be canonized, have altars created in her honor, or murals of her painted on buildings, instead the scumbag media will label her a white nationalist insurrectionist and her death was absolutely justified in defending our democracy and the fed that killed her is a hero and not a sexist cop just out to kill women. I seriously doubt the regime has any awareness of how much it is universally despised among actual Americans and peoples abroad and I long for the day of its destruction.

Sorry about that, I’m usually pretty Zen but I hit the trifecta in the deranged internet comment department in that I’m an uneducated, crude warehouse worker by profession and I wrote that after a real strong cup of coffee and I’m not a fan of politicians or media talking heads. By the way I just coincidentally named off democrats only but I’m not a republican or a trumper and in swalwell’s defense I would have fanged Bang Bang too.

No, literally, I saw the ABC stream where the TV talking head, either himself or quoting someone, comparing this to 9/11.
I still haven’t seen most of it but there were pictures of people literally inside Pelosi’s office, and a guy sitting in the Speaker’s chair, and people climbing down the Senate gallery?
I’ve been in the Senate observer’s gallery when I was like 11 and I of course had a fantasy of scaling down that wall so literally this is sort of like a fun childhood fantasy come true via proxy.
I mean I don’t care about Trump or whatever but I approve of Peaceful Protests.

Bruce Rux in his “Hollywood vs. the Aliens: The Motion Picture Industry’s Participation in UFO Disinformation” (Berkeley: Frog Ltd, 1997) says that in movies made during Rep. administrations, aliens are evil, but under Democrats they are portrayed as benign. This changed under Clinton, and he gives ID as an example. This supposedly reflects the rise of “neoliberalism” where both parties are seen as equally evil. Of course, it could just be people hated the Clintons. It also assumes that Hollywood hates neoliberalism, which doesn’t seem to be the case, although maybe they’ve been taken over by neoliberals themselves.

I read a guy saying that the Occupiers decided to retreat when all the tour buses full of Boomer MAGAtards started to leave. They had the backup of huge crowds but when the Boomertards had their fun and decided to go home to log on to social media and post pictures of Facebook the Occupiers realized the tear gas was coming and left.
If the Boomers had been serious and stayed it would have been great.
But really when your movement figurehead is a Game Show Host working for the political party of a foreign state, what are you gonna do?

Few were dressed for the occasion, few were carrying the supplies needed for a prolonged stay – water – food. I left my blanket at home knowing it would not go into the night because of the Georgia Senate debacle. It was cold.
The Rubicon (actually the Pomerium) was crossed none the less.

Please give us a report of what happened that we wouldn’t necessarily have seen on the TV.
Things I want to know:
1. Who brought the Confederate flag?
2. Is it true there were “Nazi” symbols there, because if so, it was obviously a set up.
3. Most of the media seems to come from people like “Baked Alaska” which aren’t really serious political actors, more like the social media version of “Reality TV” stars.
I gotta admit I felt a surge of patriotism seeing those ZOGressmen huddling in fear under their seats. Made me want to sing the national anthem and salute the flag.
