Now that a famous celebrity, Sean Connery, has died, I am posting with James Bond in the text, the word celebrity and the acronym “RIP” in a shameless attempt to grab random traffic from the keywords.

Probably the most honest tribute to Sir Sean to appear online today.
But I must point out that Sean vs Roger is a false dilemma, like Biden vs Trump. “They” want you to believe those are the only choices. Revisionism isn’t just for the Holocaust. Bond revisionists now consider George Lazenby to be the better Bond, and OHMSS to be the best Bond film (best cinematography, screenplay, music, Blofeld, Bond Girl, etc.)
And yes, it was thought so at the time. Harry and Cubby desperately wanted Lazenby to sign on for a half dozen films, but he refused, thinking he’d made his point — I’m as good as Connery — and like Connery wanted to move on. Vengeful producers created the legend of OHMSS as a disaster; would a Hollywood producer named Salzman lie to you? Not even for a stainless steel delicatessen!

The best Bond was Peter Sellers.

Mike Myers, for the gravitas the genre so sorely needed.
