Passivism

At some point someone in the Neo-Reaction, at the old SocialMatter.net website, came up with the idea of “passivism.” As far as I can tell, the name was chosen to simply be the opposite of “activism” then the meaning was ret-conned later. That’s what reaction is, after all, just gainsaying whatever leftists do, sort of like Monty Python’s argument clinic.

The idea was met with no little outrage and ridicule, especially since the strategy was defined via a simple two entry list:

  1. Become worthy.
  2. Accept power.

Not much of a strategy, but those who complained missed all the subtlety, as right-wingers and reactionaries are wont to do.

Recently, the fellows over at The Myth of the 20th Century podcasted about Mormonism with The Mormon Question – Destiny and Faith (Myth20c – Ep152).

Henry Delacroix at The American Sun, a website run by the guys from The Myth of the 20th Century podcast, posted an article So You Want To Build A Mannerbund that detailed the South African Afrikaner Broederbond.

Another great podcast, Rebel Yell from Identity Dixie, in Rebel Yell 156 Iran & Virginia, Part II, discussed Hezbollah, the Shia political party/militia linked to Iran.

The host of Rebel Yell, Musonius Rufus, has long discussed similar concepts. A Southern Nationalist, Protestant Christian – and a Freemason – Rufus has long advocated the “secret society” form of social organization. The term “mannerbund” has gained quite a bit of currency on the neo-right, but unfortunately the term keeps getting confused with a “gay mafia” or something to do with picking up chicks, which is putting the bitch before the sled, to mangle a metaphor.

So let’s use a simple, non-triggering English word that everyone understands: fraternity.

A fraternity (from Latin frater: “brother”; “brotherhood”), fraternal order or fraternal organisation is an order, organisation, society or a club of men associated together for various religious or secular aims. — Infogalactic

Let’s assert that the fraternity is step one of the “passivist” strategy: “become worthy.”

Seeing this author, of a practical bent, educated as an engineer, proudly holds middle-class values and middle-brow tastes, let’s also right away dispense with high-minded rhetoric, spirituality and superstition, and pretensions of all types, and focus above all on practicality.

Fraternization

A trip to an old neighborhood in the Washington DC suburbs I used to haunt as a young man, I was astonished, and demoralized, to see that this once solidly middle class – and solidly white – neighborhood had become both gentrified and ghettoized, and both of these developments had essentially ethnically cleansed the whites from the neighborhood. Whites had been squeezed out from both the top – now the nicer areas full of Indian and Chinese professionals – and the bottom, the not-as-nice areas – full of mestizos and some blacks.

In this neighborhood, once white children simply had to walk or bike a few blocks to meet with friends, and teenagers could meet their romantic crushes at the shopping centers, to perhaps hold hands and kiss in the darkened cinema. But now there was no public life to be had for young whites. A similar lack of public life was to be had for adult whites, as a quick perusal of the websites of the neighborhood churches showcased, proudly, their new found “diversity.”

However, if one were to travel south from Washington DC, one is likely to notice that this problem has existed far longer and has been solved in different ways. Public life was always different in the more rural south, where walking culture barely ever existed in the first place, and, especially after the era of forced integration, there existed a physical culture of shabby “public” accommodations with a quite vigorous, and sometimes grand, “private” sphere. Socialization is more likely to take place at parties in private homes than a neighborhood bar, and in fact, the taverns themselves have often been “private clubs” open to members only.

The South East is full of working class “private clubs” that are essentially just like a regular bar, but you have to become a member, and to be a member you have to be invited by a member, and the only guests allowed have to be invited by an existing member.

Whites have already lost their super-majority status in North America and are close to losing their simple majority status in America, so the way to preserve white cultures in the face of racial diversity is to retreat into the private sphere. Not only is there a long tradition of this, it’s actually a quite advantageous development with many positive possibilities for the future.

The 2020s are poised to become a second Golden Age of Fraternalism.

“Golden Age of Fraternalism” is a term referring to a period when membership in the fraternal societies in the United States grew at a very rapid pace in the latter third of the 19th century and continuing into the first part of the 20th. At its peak, it was suggested that as much as 40% of the adult population held membership in at least one fraternal order. Major examples were the Freemasons and the Odd Fellows. — Infogalactic

Simple Addition

One white man is an isolated individual. Two white men are just buddies. But three white men are a fraternity whether you call it a gang, a ride-share, a prayer breakfast, a start up, or one man short of a polo team.

Now the neo-right may have their meetups, their pool parties, and the book clubs, but this is premature addition. The first problem is that it’s online first. So you are selecting for “politics” – meaning, online politics, meaning quasi-political fanboyism. Plus you are begging to be infiltrated by bad actors who are ever-present online.

But organizing three guys to lift weights, or play basketball, while good and healthy, is just that: lifting weights and playing ball. It’s certainly good for your health, and there’s a great personal benefit to male bonding.

In the Anglo world there is a movement called the “Men’s Shed.”

Men’s sheds or community sheds are non-profit local organisations that provide a space for craftwork and social interaction. The movement originated in Australia as a way to improve the health and wellbeing of older men … [and] have similar aims and functions to hackerspaces. There are over 900 located across Australia, with thousands of active members. Men’s sheds can also be found in the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, United States, Canada, Finland, New Zealand and Greece. The slogan for men’s sheds is “Shoulder To Shoulder”, shortened from “Men don’t talk face to face, they talk shoulder to shoulder”, adopted after the 2008 Australian Men’s Shed Association (AMSA) conference. — Infogalactic

You have to walk before you can run. Mao said “the guerrilla must move amongst the people as a fish swims in the sea.”

The baseline fraternities – the three-man to twenty-man local clubs made up of regular white guys, doing regular stuff, is the sea. These sorts of local gangs must be nurtured, but they are not the final form of the fraternity. Instead, they are Level Zero; the raw material, the sea and the sea-life. But they are absolutely necessary because they provide the sea that the fish can swim in, and they prepare the recruitment pool.

It should go without saying, but for a Fraternity of the type anyone reading this is interested in, there are obviously two rules for membership: white and male.

To be more precise, the recruiting pool for the Fraternity must ALREADY be segregated by race and sex. Not only does this provide a first level filter, it provides a kind of plausible deniability. One of your buddies in your five-man bar-darts team, who knows, may be dating an Asian chick – or open to being seduced by a Yellow Dragon. He may be a MAGA-hat wearer, but will balk at “the race stuff.” He may be a stand up guy, but will gladly spill his guts on twitter, or haphazardly use his email linked to a twitter account. Loose lips sink ships.

That’s why you need Level Zero. Level Zero is the sea; the first filter. No one needs to be aware of the First Filter, in fact, no one should be aware of the first filter.

If a local includes a non-white, or just can’t seem to tell their girlfriends to stay home on club day – that local is compromised and no one is ever going to rise to Level One. It’s all implicit at that point. A potential who gets it – who senses it – is going to drop that local and transfer to another local who does implicitly get it.

In such cases it’s always better to watch what someone does as opposed to what someone says. Which is why online recruitment is worthless; less than worthless, it’s begging to be infiltrated. How long did it take for the AltRight.com “chat room” to be compromised? It was a zero-day exploit. The very day the “chat room” was announced, Antifa was in recording every chat, and all the stupid “nazi jokes” were printed out and added to the court record after Charlottesville, proving “intent.” Now, many young white guys are doing hard time. It didn’t have to be that way.

Passivism works, if you work it.

So that’s Level Zero. What’s level one?
